Helping a Pastor from Ni-geria
We had heard from our friends at Every Home for Christ about a pastor from Ni-geria who was trying to plant a church here in Pohnpei, but ran into problems with the immigration department in obtaining an entry permit. A couple of weeks ago I met this Ni-gerian pastor, Dele Jayeoba from the RCCG church. He is a very nice man and has returned to Pohnpei in hopes to solidify their plans to plant a new church in Daini. My dear friend, Judah from the village of Pihs is assisting Pastor Dele in these efforts.

Pastor Dele had walked in to the Kolonia House of Prayer and liked the construction. When he had heard that I had done the renovations, he asked if I could help him with some construction projects as they were remodeling the building the RCCG had leased in Daini. Just as Herman and Every Home for Christ had come alongside Pastor Dele and the RCCG, I felt to do so also and lend a hand. The first project was to construct a podium for the main sanctuary. Dele showed me a picture of a simple podium made from wood that he got off of the internet, so we headed to Ace Hardware to purchase the materials for this project. For under $150 we were able to purchase all of the materials needed for the project. My son and I built the main structure in one evening, while I trimmed it out, stained and finished it the next day. I think it turned out pretty sweet, especially since we only used a skill saw, a drill and a hammer.

The next day Pastor Dele asked if we could help him to plywood a wall in the main sanctuary that he is renovating. So last night my son and I brought our tools and ladder to Daini and installed the plywood wall for him. Judah and Milton were also there painting the main sanctuary as Dele's plan is to hold the first church service there in Daini this Sunday. We were glad to be able to lend a hand to our Ni-gerian brother. This is the body of Christ at work. No matter what label or denomination, we are ONE body, ONE bride, helping each other out.
