Climbing Mt.Diablo

As the girls were here for the week, we decided earlier in the week to climb at the summit of Mt. Diablo, one of the highest peaks in the Bay Area. We had so much fun driving to the summit while listening to African tribal music, then climbing dirt trails and pretending that an unreached people group was waiting on the other side for us to bring the gospel to.

My good friend and missionary team mate, Jesse accompanied me on the long drive from Oregon to California. We decided the next day to climb at the summit of Mt. Tamalpais, the second of the highest peaks in the Bay Area. The view from the top was breath taking.

Update on Cary and VJ

We are so blessed to have made some new friends. I met Cary at McDonalds a couple of weeks ago. He was the disabled man who was being harrassed by some teenagers that we were able to minister to.

I ran into Cary again and found out that he didn't have enough food for lunch for the week. I felt the Holy Spirit leading me to buy Cary and his wife, VJ some groceries from Food Max. Cary informed me that since I talked to one of the teens that they had stopped ridiculing them. It was sad to hear that those kids had even followed Cary and VJ back to their apartments at times and hurled raw eggs at them.

With the girls here for Spring Break we decided to bring some pizza over to Cary and VJ's house to simply share a meal with them. They were so grateful for our company. We ended the evening with coffee and ice cream at McDonald's and had a nice time of testimonies and a Bible study together. It is such an honor to be able to reach out to the least of these in our community.

Sharing on Missions at Berean Christian High School

[Facebook Posts from 3-13-15] Please pray for me as today I will be speaking on missions all day at Berean Christian High School. I am hoping that the stories I tell will inspire many to engage in personally reaching the nations and fulfilling the Great Commission as they hear and respond to His call on their lives.

Wowowow! There was an amazing response in all six periods of Junior Bible class from the students as I shared my personal testimony and stories of our missionary adventures. Well over half of the students expressed that they felt Jesus stirring their hearts to engage in foreign missions today. I feel so honored to have been able to speak in Mr. Araujo's class today. I pray that Papa God would open all of the right doors for those who heard and responded to the call of God on their lives to reach the nations.

Ministering to the OPPRESSED and the OPPRESSOR

Ben Cuyler and I had the opportunity to minister to both the oppressed and the oppressor this evening.

THE OPPRESSED- Right away a disabled man named Cary, who is originally from

Japan

was drawn to us. He came and told Ben that some teens were harassing him. Ben spoke identity and emotional healing over him right away. Then I asked if we could sit with him. He began to share with us about how his disability causes him to have seizures, about his financial struggles, about his background, his living condition, his wife and his faith. Then the teens that were harassing him earlier came back to ridicule him some more. Cary was very upset and went to the McDonald’s staff to try and get help. Ben and I walked outside but the teens took off. I exchanged numbers with Cary, then laid hands on him and prayed for his physical and emotional healing, as well as for his protection and financial breakthrough. He was grateful for the time we took to minister to him.

THE OPPRESSOR- As I left McDonald's, Ben said that the three teens had returned once again to harass Cary, but took off when they saw him. We decided to go look for the teens to try and talk with them. Ben pointed us in the direction they went. So we looked for them in the Suburban. After driving a few blocks we spotted one of the teens on the corner. We turned around and asked the teen if we could talk with him. We preached the truth in love to this Hispanic young man named David. We painted a clear picture of the damage that he and he friends were causing to Cary, followed by calling out David's destiny to stand up for the oppressed rather than be the oppressor. We pleaded with him to repent of his sins. He listened to our words and confirmed that he knew these things but still was choosing not to surrender his life to Christ. Nevertheless, David allowed us to pray with him. We laid hands on him and asked the Lord to encounter him tonight. David nodded his head in agreement and we knew that Holy Spirit was ministering directly to his heart. After praying with him we also ministered to his friend who was with him.

Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Ministry at Berean Christian High School

I got a call from my mom a week ago asking if Cho Nas and I could come and minister at the Wednesday morning chapel at Berean Christian High School for Spiritual Emphasis Week. Cho Nas and I made sure to carve out time in our schedule to be able to do so. We had a wonderful time with a gym packed with high school students. Cho Nas led another amazing set of Spirit-led worship while I was able to share a message. I mostly spoke on honor and what a selfless life looks like. These days I just ask the Lord what He would want me to speak on and most of the time I just go in with a basic direction and let Holy Spirit lead me when I speak without having notes or an outline. I was also able to share about some of our journey as missionaries. It really seemed as though the entire student body was all ears, as well as were the teachers. I pray that seeds were planted and that they would bear eternal fruit.

Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Prayer Meeting at Community Alliance Church

We have been experiencing wonderful times of worship in the presence of the Lord on Wednesday evenings at our local church. There is a rotation of different worship leaders including Cho Nas and I. This last week was my week to lead. We all just follow the Holy Spirit's leading as we engage in focused intercession together.

Saturday, March 7, 2015. Revive Richmond at Green Pastures Independent Faith Church

[Facebook post] Wonderful time in worship, then hitting the streets with Revive Richmond. A dear Hispanic man named Jesus was healed of a back injury. As we laid our hands on him he felt heat in his lower back and declared that he felt better. The gospel is good news, and love always looks like something. Today love looked like healing the sick.

Sunday, March 8, 2015. Experience and Encounter Worship Services at Community Alliance Church

Pastor John asked if I could lead worship at both the first and second service at our home church as he and his wife would be out of town. I was happy to do so and we experienced the glory of God in both services. In the second service the Spirit of God led us on an amazing journey of freedom and ministry during the worship time.

Sunday, March 8, 2015. Supporting the Launching of Arbor Alliance Church

Normally a handful of us get together on Sunday evenings to pray and worship together in Richmond. This Sunday, Pastor Jesse asked if we could all go to Napa to support another Alliance church plant. So after the worship services in Richmond, we all piled into Genesis (the Suburban) and Revelation (the 4Runner) and headed to wine country in Napa. Before the worship service we headed to a dog park so the Beemo could run around and play with other dogs. After that we attending the launching of Arbor Alliance Church. At the end our worship team had the chance to pray for their worship leader. We ended the evening sharing a meal at a pizza place together.

I am so grateful for the godly heritage that I have as my grandparents and great grandparents were missionaries and my parents are both pastors and teachers. I grew up in a loving Christian home in California where many of my friends were from the international community. I finally fully gave my life to Christ at age 19 after years of living like the prodigal son. After Yahweh wrapped His loving Father arms around me upon my return to Him, I immediately responded to His call upon my life as a missionary with a resounding, "Yes! Here I am, Lord! Send me!" For over twenty years now I have ministered both in the U.S. and overseas as a missionary. I am a licensed pastor and ordained missionary who has a huge heart for the nations, and especially for the unreached people groups. I have learned to speak five languages and continue to learn languages still. I also love to sit at the feet of Jesus, worship Him, and lead others in worship, as well as writing original praise and worship music. Operating from a place of complete surrender to the Holy Spirit's leading, pursuing intimacy with God and being filled with His presence and His love is of utmost importance to me. Loving God and loving others is my highest ambition. My journey has been filled with many victories, but has not come without it's share of trials and failures as well. I have three beautiful children. I am thrilled to be a part of His Kingdom and to see His government continue to increase worldwide.
