Salvation and Revival...A Week of Breakthrough
The week started out for me this last Sunday being asked to join the worship team and speak at Zion Fellowship. It was an amazing time working with an amazing group of servant leaders on the worship team. I spoke about our life as missionaries, telling stories and interjecting words of wisdom and encouragement throughout the message. The church was packed. I heard only good reports, though I went a little long on my message. they are letting me continue where I left off this last Sunday. One man who came to Zion Fellowship for the first time with his family said that he could "feel the Holy Spirit every minute of the service."
.
We have hit it off so well with our amazing hosts and their family. They are the pastors of Zion Fellowship and also run the Oasis Empowerment Center, where they help women who are coming out of addiction. I've been able to observe this ministry and let me just say, these guys are hearing the heartbeat of God for the "least of these" and responding. In fact, we knew of them when we were missionaries in Pohnpei many years ago. In fact, they worked for the same organization that we did back then and our lives are somewhat parallel. When we talk together about the people that we know from the Pacific islands, we stand in awe that the Lord established this Divine appointment as the girls and I are waiting for their passports to be renewed here in Guam.
.
I was asked if I could minister to the worship team and the youth group this last week. of course I was honored to do so. On Monday and Tuesday evening the worship team and I met together where we discussed what worship leading is, their goals and how to take the hand of the Father and the hand of the congregation and join the two together. On Monday night we ended our time together with prophetic worship. On Tuesday we all prayed over one another and prophesied. We laid hands on people for healing. One lady received healing from carpuls tunnels. We will all lead worship together this Sunday as well.
.
On Wednesday and Thursday evening I led the youth meeting. They are an incredible group. Some of them their mothers having gone through the program at Oasis. The first night I shared my testimony further, and then we wrote on two pieces of paper. On one paper we wrote our sins and struglles. On the the other paper we wrote our dreams. The paper with our sins and our struggles we taped to the cross in the main sanctaury, then took the papers down and burned them outside. I had them take the paper with their drams on it home and put it up where they could always see it, now that their sins and struggles would no longer keep them from living out their dreams. FOUR of the young people made a first-time decision to enter a personal, hand-holding relationship with Jesus! The next night, we talked more about their dreams and about their identity. We prayed for them to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Three of the four youth that I personally prayed for began to pray in tongues for the first time! We are truly seeing salvation and revival here in Guam. It has DEFINITELY been a week of breakthough!

Mozambique to Micronesia DAY #4
The all too familiar island air hit us as our family exited the airport in Guam. Yep. We are back in the Pacific islands that we once called home many years ago...and now call home once again. Tomorrow night we will take one last flight on this long journey from Guam to Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia. Until then we have a day and a half layover here in Guam.

.
We had to stay a night, so we chose the most inexpensive hotel that we could find called the "Harmon Loop Hotel." It is very close to the airport. There is a McDonalds across the street which we have utilized. There is also a Chinese food restaurant near the hotel that we ate at last night. Justine has been sick with a fever since we arrived in Guam. Poor thing. It sucks to be sick, but especially while traveling. It will be good to be in a permanent place here soon.

Mozambique to Micronesia DAY #3
When we first got to the airport we were pleasantly surprised by the orderliness of the Manilla International Airport in the Philippines. Upon arrival there was a sign with several names on it, including ours and there was an official explaining to us where we needed to go from that point in order to transfer to the next flight. While we were waiting for our next flight to Guam, we had some Philippino coffee that was really strong. We were also very surprised by the cleanliness of the restrooms. While I was in the restroom there was a man cleaning the toilet after every two uses! After this we went to our gate and boarded our flight to Guam where we would meet up with my dad and my sisters.

Mozambique to Micronesia DAY #3
We made it safely to South Korea on our fourth flight of this rather lengthy journey. The girls and I are thinking of where the rest of us might be at the moment, probably arriving in the Philippines soon. The amount of time in the air and time zones we have crossed have taken a little bit of a toll on us. The girls and I have been exhausted from jet lag. Justine has battled nausia and vomitting on the last flights. We knew that we would have a twelve hour layover in Korea, so once we landed and got our boarding passes for the flight to Guam, the girls and I decided to find a quiet spot in the airport and just CRASH! And crash we did! We slept for six hours straight, catching up on the much needed sleep that we had been deprived of on the many flights. We all felt very much refreshed, and though we are still feeling the jet-lag, we are ready to head to Guam. We miss them so much. After our beauty sleep we were able to score some Burger King here in the airport. We haven't had anything like that for a couple of months, so it was a treat. Here we go...OFF TO GUAM!

Mozambique to Micronesia DAY #2
On Em-ira-tes [airline] I got to watch some fun movies and watch where we are on a map. When we got to Singapore, justine and I had problems with our passports because ours expire before 6 months, so we got help. After we got that sorted out, things went pretty smoothly and we got onto our next flight, with Korean Air.

Mozambique to Micronesia DAY #2
When we first got off the plane a burst of heat just blasted my face and my eyes started to water. We immediately got onto a bus and went to our plane to Singapore. On that flight I got sick and threw up. But I was praying and now I'm completely better.

SOUTH AFRICA 2012 - Mozambique to Micronesia DAY #1

Johannesburg, South Africa

Mozambique to Micronesia DAY #1
We loaded all of our hiking packs into the back of the Harvest School's white truck. Tanya volunteered to take us to the airport. It has been a long week. I have been getting all of our extended outreach teams out. Some have gone to different nations such as Thailand, Nepal, Malawi, Sierra Leone and nations I cannot write about. Others have gone on ten-day bush bush outreaches to villages here in Mozambique. These three hundred laid-down lovers of Jesus are now taking all they have caught here at HS16 and carrying it to the darkest places of earth. We now set out for the island of Pohnpei in Federated States of Micronesia where we will be pioneering a new Iris base and Missionary Training Center. As we say goodbye to Mozambique for now, we know that the past two months of running really hard have been stretching, yet amazing.
.
Our first stop in this journey is Johannesburg, South Africa. It is one of two flights that our family travel together. We boarded the South African Airlines plane. This plane is bigger and more comfortable that the one that took us to Pemba two months earlier. The flight is only a couple of hours. It was nice that we could all arrive together in South Africa because I was able to change dollars into rands and help arrange a hotel in Joberg. We all ate hotdogs together in the airport, held hands and prayed, then went our separate ways.

MOZAMBIQUE 2012 - First Outreach in New Iris Ship

Lom-Dom, Mozambique
Thursday, August 9, 2012
.
First Outreach in New Iris Ship
Our new Iris ship named, "Iris Compassion" arrived a few days ago. Heidi Baker invited me to come on our first outreach using the ship to the islands across the channel in Pemba. Her heart was to worship all the way to the village of Lomdom, where she has amazing stories of reaching that once uncontacted village by boat a few years ago. The village has turned to Christ and has even built Heidi a mud hut of her own in the village. Iris has built a church, a school and a water tank to catch rain water as fresh water is inaccessible on the island.
.
Heidi shares a great story of buying a kayak in New Zealand as she wanted to use it to reach the islands. It proved hard work for her to row that far, so all these years later, God gave Iris a ship that was once owned by the king of Spain but now belongs to the King of Kings! We worship together as a tribe all the way to the island. Heidi and I, with our Mozmabican brothers board a dingy that takes us from the new Iris ship that is anchored off the coast to the village of Lomdom. Shouts of joy come from the shoreline as we arrive. Heidi greets her friends and introduces us to them. We walk in the dark and greet the villagers. Heidi embraces them. We pray for a girl sick with Malaria. She is healed and gets up to join in the activities. Heidi shows us around the village. We see the church, school, water tank and Heidi's mud hut. With a small generator, sound system and light, the village is filled with praising Jesus. Heidi shares about the woman at the well. Others give testimonies. The children raise their hands and cry out for more of Holy Spirit in the Makhua language. We distribute two boxes of clothes and gifts to everyone. The Jesus film plays into the night. We say our goodbyes and head back to "Iris Compassion" where we spend the night. Most slept inside the beautiful rooms below deck. I spent the night up top and slept under the stars. How glorious!

.
The next morning we share a meal together and continue on worshipping the Lord as we travel further towards uncontacted villages on the islands. We pray for favor with the chief of a village that God highlighted to us. Within moments of praying this, a boat with eight men approaches our new Iris ship. They ask for a gift of fuel and oil. We give it to them. Come to find out the chief of that village was one of the men on the boat. What amazing favor! What a quick answer to prayer! Heidi boards the boat with our Mozambican brothers and heads to their village. We stay back and worship. There is an anticipation that something great is going to happen. Hours later Heidi returns on the dingy. She had led the chief, the king and the entire villlage to Christ! She hadn't ever seen such openness. And that says a lot! Heidi dives into the Indian Ocean for a swim to celebrate this amazing victory in Jesus! We all jump in as well. I didn't bring swum trunks so I jumped in with my pants on. We continue to worship God and thank Him for such an amazing first outreach on "Iris Compassion." Stay posted for a video I am putting together!
