Celebrating Sukkot
We are in the middle of celebrating Sukkot here in the Federated States of Micronesia. Our lovely friends who are Messianic Jews have built a "sukkah" or booth from palm branches on their back porch, and we have been sharing meals with them in their booth or tabernacle each evening and reading from the Scriptures as we explore the heart of YHWH together. It has been an amazing time in His presence and as we look up each evening at the "sukkah," we can see light coming through the palm branches which reminds us of the light that Yeshua Hamashiach brings into our lives. For Messianic Jews or Christians, Sukkot, or the Feast of Tabernacles is a time to look back and to celebrate Elohim sending His only Son, Yeshua, who came to make His dwelling with us, or tabernacle with us [John 1:14]. It also looks forward to the time that Yeshua will return to the earth and make His tabernacle with us, first in His millennial Kingdom where we will rule and reign with Him, then for eternity once time is no more and when the New Jerusalem comes down. In modern-day Israel, Jews everywhere build their "sukkahs" where they celebrate this seven day feast. We are so thankful to be able to celebrate this feast with our dear friends here in Pohnpei.
