Trip Across Africa DAY #5
Another travel day today. Today was as many kilometers or hours as yesterday, though. The trip didn’t start off so great. Just as we were leaving Lusaka for Livingstone, a rock must have kicked up from a big rig truck and shattered the rear driver-side window. Jordan was sitting in that seat and got a little scared, but we were thankful to Jesus that no one was hurt. And although the window shattered, it stayed intact enough for me to be able to duct tape it from the inside in order for it to be fine for the rest of our journey. I will look into getting it fixed, either in Windhoek, Namibia, or when we get back to Mozambique. No worries.

One
thing that we noticed drive across Zambia from east to west has been
the change in people and types of huts. Today we drove into an area
where the Tonga people are prominent, rather than the Nyanja. You can
see a noticeable difference in the way people’s faces look. One thing
that is for certain the people of Zambia are beautiful people, who are
very kind.

Prayed again that we would make it to Livingstone before sundown. Once again, He has answered our prayers. We are staying at a budget place suggested by the “Lonely Planet - Africa” book called “Zig Zag” Bed and Breakfast. We have a beautiful room. We are just now sitting at their beautiful “Coffee House” which is also a restaurant. We are daring to try the crocodile burger, which isn’t just the name of the burger, but is actually made from the meat of a crocodile’s tail. Bizarre Foods, look out!
