UNTOLD STORIES OF GLORY FROM MOZAMBIQUE

In 2009, our missionary team answered the call to carry the love and glory of God to the unreached Yao village of Matemengue. The Lord had given us a heavenly strategy to bring audio solar-powered New Testaments in the Yao language as gifts to the chief of every village before the rainy season began with the hope that they would listen to the Word of God for the four months that we would be unable to travel to their villages on the muddy paths, and with the belief that these gifts would somehow touch the heart of each chief and that they would give us permission to show the Jesus Film in their villages after the rainy season had ended.

When we traveled to the village of Matemangue in late 2009, we encountered the chief of that village. He was a man of another faith and had a very angry and hardened look to him. He reluctantly accepted our gift of the audio solar-powered New Testament and as we were leaving we said that we would come visit him after the rainy season. For four months during the rainy season we daily prayed for the Yao villages where we had given these gifts to the chiefs.

In early 2010, after the rainy season had ended, our missionary team traveled to the village of Matemangue in search of the chief in order to reconnect with him and hopefully set up a Jesus Film outreach. As we entered the village, we were greeted by a man who looked familiar, yet was literally glowing and grinning from ear to ear. Come to find out, he was the chief who once looked angry and hardened. He said to us, "Njomba, njomba (uncle, uncle), I have listened to the words which have come from the little black box that you had given to me as a gift, along with those in our village and I believe every word." This chief of the village of Matemangue was literally transformed simply by listening to the Word of God. No missionary was there to pray a prayer of faith with him in order to receive Jesus, yet the change in this man's demeanor and countenance said it all; Isa Klisto (Jesus Christ) entered this man's life because a handful of Christ-followers had their spiritual ears tuned in to heaven and were faithful to carry out the heavenly strategies that they were given. This chief not only welcomed our team to come and show the Jesus Film, but to plant a church in his village. As a result hundreds of people in the village of Matemangue responded to the gospel of Christ's love and have invited Jesus into their lives.
