Guam Glory Chronicles Continued
So I was invited to fly back to Guam from Pohnpei by our friends to sort of fill in for three weeks while they were off island in the Philippines. After we prayed about it, we felt that God was giving us the green light to take them up on their offer. Let me just say, that when God leads you to do something, He delivers BIG TIME! I've been here in Guam for about a week and a half and I wanted to write a post on what's been happening here. The following stories are excerpts from my Facebook posts...
.
Casting Out Demons
Started off the evening slamming doors on the enemy's face with the teens at youth group...ended the evening with two chili cheese burritos from Taco Bell. Gotta enjoy SOME creature comforts while I'm in Guam. :) [Facebook Post 10-18-2012]
.
Acts 2:17, "God wen say, 'Dis wat I goin do in da last days, I goin make my Spirit take charge a all da peopo. Yoa boys an yoa girls goin talk fo me. Yoa young guys goin see spesho tings. An yoa old guys goin dream plenny dreams.'" (Da Jesus Book-Hawaii Pidgin)
.
Ephesians 6:12, "Eh! Us guys get war now, you know! But we not fighting agains regula kine peopo wit skin an bones. We stay fighting agains da spirit leadas, agains da spirits dat get plenny power, agains da main gods dat stay in charge a dis dark world, agains da spirits wit power inside da sky dat you no can see, but dey bad kine." (Da Jesus Book-Hawaii Pidgin)
.
Thank you all for your continued prayers. I just got back from a prayer meeting where a group of us cast a number of demons out of a woman who wanted to be free as she forgave those who had wronged her and then invited Jesus into her heart. I am not sure if there are many other things in life that bring me as much joy as looking into the shining face of someone who has just received deliverance from evil spirits! Satan freakin' lost out huge tonight! Jesus rules!!! [Facebook Post 10-20-2012]
.
Luke 10:19, "Listen! I wen give you guys da power so you can walk on top da snakes an da scorpions, an you guys get da power fo win ova da guy dat stay agains us, da Devil. You guys get plenny mo power den da Devil get." (Da Jesus Book-Hawaii Pidgin)
.
Heavenly Transactions
Whoa! Church this morning at Zion Fellowship was off the hook! All I gotta say is that fig leaves (man's way of covering the nakedness of his guilt and shame) were being traded for wedding gowns (God's way of clothing His sons and daughters because of His Son's sacrifice)! So thankful that Jesus cursed the fig tree in Mark 11:13-14 because of it's unfruitfulness! [Facebook Post 10-21-2012]
.
We just want to share with y'all that Sunday's worship was amazing and let everyone know who missed it to join us at Zion and receive the message and Word to share this awesome experience and intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Christian, you truly have a special gift from above.. ^0^ [Guest Facebook Post from Ed D Aflague 10-22-2012]
.
Today I was able to accompany a group of clients from Oasis Empowement Center on a trip to Inarajan, where we swam, enjoyed God's creation, and symbolically picked up two objects that we found laying around the beach...one object was symbolic of something we were letting go of, the other object was something we were wanting of God's character to hold on to. [10-22-2012]

.
Treasure Hunts
A good number of Jesus-lovers from Zion Fellowship went on a treasure hunt tonight. Each group carried the love of God into Chamorro Village and prayed for plenty of people all while stepping out and operating in the prophetic. Good times! [Facebook Post 10-24-2012]
.
John 3:16, "God wen get so plenny love an aloha fo da peopo inside da world, dat he wen send me, his one an ony Boy, so dat everybody dat trus me no get cut off from God, but get da real kine life dat stay to da max foeva." (Da Jesus Book- Hawaii Pidgin)

Heavenly strategies are so key to breakthrough and revival in any area. God is so strategic and because we are seated in the heavenlies with Christ Jesus, we can sit in on His strategy meetings there. I sense the Spirit on this: What if Zion Fellowship used a map of Guam and had two sets of teams; (1) Prayer walking teams (THE AIR FORCE) and (2) Treasure hunting teams (THE GROUND FORCE)...that would strategically go throughout Guam monthly or even weekly, first praying over areas, inviting the manifest presence of God into those areas that have been held in bondage by demonic strongholds THEN doing treasure hunts in those areas, carrrying the love of God with no strings attached to the broken and hurting? The result? An unprecidented revival marked by God's love and glory...at least that's what I envision. :) In modern war, the AIR FORCE always goes in and destroys key targets before the GROUND FORCE can take the land. Intercession and warfare prayer through prayer walks preceeding treasure hunts throughout all of Guam is, in my opinion, a heavenly strategy that could shake this island in these last days, ushering in the unhindered rule and reign of our Messiah Yeshua, Jesus Christ. Just a thought. :) [Facebook Post 10-25-2012]

Prison Ministry
Matthew 25:34-40, "Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, Come, blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in. I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. Then the righteous shall answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You? Or thirsty, and gave You drink? When did we see You a stranger, and took You in? Or naked, and clothed You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You? And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you have done it to Me."

MICRONESIA 2012 - Uhpw!

Uhpw
Uhpw is the kind of coconut that you drink. “Uhpw” is the word for “drinking coconut" in Pohnpeian. It is a cool, refreshing  drink. You can drink it after a hard day of work. It has electrolytes, just like Gatorade but healthier. It tastes like soda water, and is really delicious with lime squeezed in it.

UHPW!
Ah yes, uhpw! One of the many joys of living in Pohnpei is the wonderful drinking coconut, or what the Pohnpeians call, “uhpw.” The coconut is hairy on the outside, but not to worry! Inside the young coconut is the delicious coconut water which is sweet, and also full of electrolytes making it very healthy! Sometimes when it is first opened, it’s slightly fizzy almost giving it the effect of a soft drink. These coconuts grow everywhere on the island, making them easy to access and very cheap. Uhpw is definitely one of the number of things that make life on the islands so awesome!

Soaking Sessions and Holy Spirit Parties
Well, our class on the Holy Spirit is going well with the Every Home for Christ mission school students. Today we had a soaking session and then a Holy Spirit party. I simply LOVE learning from our Teacher, the Holy Spirit on Tuesdays and Thursdays with my Micronesian family here in Pohnlangas. I couldn't ask for more than the seventeen hungry, on-fire MDMI students and the ten EHC workers that I get to hang with every week. I LOVE these guys!

MICRONESIA 2012 - Historical Sites in Pohnpei

Kolonia, Pohnpei

.
Old Spanish Wall
During the period of time when the Spanish occupied Pohnpei (1886-1899) the first of a series of Pohnpeian rebellions occured in 1887 and the Spanish quickly built a wall around their fort for protection. The Germans later dismantled portions of it, but hastily rebuilt it then when the Pohnpeians rebelled against their regime in 1910. The wall today only serves as a dividing line between a public park and a baseball field, and runs a bit further into the main part of Kolonia town.
.
.
The Catholic Bell Tower
The Germans built a Catholic church on lands acquired by the Spanish in 1909. The Japanese appropriated it for military use during World War II, and then partially dismantled it for building material. Interestingly enough, the bell tower of the church was one of the only three large structures on the island missed by bombs during the war.
.
.
Protestant Church
Protestant missionaries arrived in Pohnpei from Hawaii in 1852, mostly as a reaction to the loose morals of the whalers hanging around Pohnpei at that time. They established missions in Madolenihmw and Kitti and then in the 1930's built this church building, now referred to as the "mother church" for all Protestant (U.C.C.P.) churches on the island. This church building also survived World War II unscathed by bombing.
.

.
Japanese Tanks
In a few places on the island, Japanese tanks can be found rusting away in the tropical climate. The tanks are a model called, "Type 95 Light" and were manufactured from 1936-1943. These tanks originally were able to hold a crew of three and were each armed with a cannon and two machine guns. The one in this photo was removed from Pohnpei, restored in Japan and returned to the island in 1981.

MICRONESIA 2012 - Why the Lack of Power in the Church?

Madolenihmw, Pohnpei

Why the Lack of Power in the Church?
I had the opportunity to preach a message at the Every Home for Christ fellowship in Pohnlangas, Madolenihmw this morning. Herman, the director of EHC invited me to preach on whatever the Holy Spirit was prompting me to. Earlier last week I was sharing with Herman a picture of Samson and Deliliah in regards to why (in most cases) the church isn't operating in the power of Holy Spirit as it once did in the early church [I had heard a rendition of this message by Ray Comfort many years ago]. I began to seek the Lord on this more and began to receive more revelation on it. I thought I would write a blog post with this prophetic message that rings true beyond the barrier reef of our little island here...
.
...It is a message that the "Church," the body of Christ worldwide should take a really good look at...especially in light of the fact that we now find ourselves in the days of His latter rain where a great outpuring of His Holy Spirit is taking place across the world, and as such a line is being drawn in the church...a line that most "Christians" find themselves on one side or the other of. This line of demarcation separates: (1) those who believe it is the destiny of the modern church to operate in the signs, wonders and miracles as the early church did, and (2) those who believe that the gifts of the Spirit have ceased after the death of the original twelve apostles. As of late I have been thoroughly enjoying watching our heavenly Father flatten theological boxes that people have crafted and placed Him in as Holy Spirit has been moving across denominational lines with demonstrations of His power. Churches that were once opposed to any stirrings of a modern day movement of the Holy Spirit in the form of miracles, signs and wonders are finding Christ-followers in their midst who are hungry for His presence and who find in themselves a holy dissatisfaction with a religion void of the super-natural. Herein lies the key to this all: People who are hungry for the presence of God! We are finding them in churches of every historical background and flavor. Many times what happens is that these hungry people have encounters with Holy Spirit and then long for others in their congregations to experience the same freedom that they are experiencing. Unfortunately in most cases this is met with resistance from the clergy and laity of their churches, and the hungry Christ-follower is faced with a decision: Either continue to worship and fellowship at their church where they constantly find themsleves swimming against the current and their fire is continually under threat of being quenched by the institutionalized system, or leave their old church and find a new church that is open to their new-found freedom in the Holy Spirit and where they are surrounded by others who are also hungry for the presence of God. Rarely would such a person be able to stay in their old church and be conduits of change from the inside-out, though it is possible and has happened.
.
With the spread of Chrsitianity worldwide over the past two thousand years, we will find that statistically the majority of the "Christian Church" finds themselves on the side of the line that is satisfied with their religious gatherings and that lacks the transformational power of God. This majority may or may not ever question why it is that they find themselves in this state. My hope is that this message will bring clarity to the majority of the "Christian Church" as to why it is they aren't experiencing the power of God on a daily basis. It is also good for those of us on the other side of that line to understand more why those within the institutionalized church are so resistant to the power of the Holy Spirit. THE MESSAGE (short version)......
.
.
Judges 16:15-21, "And she [Deliliah] said to him, How can you say, I love you, and your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me in what your great strength lies. And it happened because she distressed him with her words daily, and urged him; and his soul was grieved to death. And he told her all his heart, and said to her, A razor has not come on my hair, for I am a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I will become weak and be like any man. And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come this once, for he has showed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her, and brought silver in their hand. And she made him sleep upon her knees. And she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head. And she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. And she said, The Philistines are upon you, Samson! And he awoke out of his sleep and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he did not know that Jehovah had departed from him. And the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass. And he ground in the prison house." (NKJV)
.
Delilah (THE ENEMY) has caused Samson (THE CHURCH) to fall asleep in her arms (THE WORLD) as she has cut his SEVEN locks of hair off leaving him powerless.
.
Throughout church history you can see what these SEVEN locks of hair are, or SEVEN ways the church has lost it's power:
(1) FALSE IDENTITY (Matt. 16:18)
(2) PRIDE (Mark 7:8, 13)
(3) HATRED (Matt. 24:9-12)
(4) DIVISIONS (1 Cor. 1:12-13, Mark 3:25)
(5) LACK OF INTIMACY (Rev. 3:1)
(6) WORLDLINESS (Matt. 13:22)
(7) UNBELIEF/APATHY (Prov. 29:18)
How will Samson (the church) regain his strength and power? Through repentance and by coming in the opposite spirit:
(1) TRUE IDENTITY (1 Cor. 3:11, Phil. 3:20)
(2) HUMILITY (Mark 10:44)
(3) LOVE (Matt. 25:31-46)
(4) UNITY (John 17:21)
(5) INTIMACY (Luke 10:38-42)
(6) HOLINESS (2 Cor. 6:17, Rom. 12:2)
(7) FAITH/PASSION (Matt. 24:45-51)
.
Ephesians 5:27, "That He might present it to Himself as the glorious church, without spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that it should be holy and without blemish." (NKJV)
.
1 Peter 4:17, "For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?" (ESV)
.
If Jesus is coming back for a Bride without spot or wrinkle, there is a lot of dirty laundry in the Church that needs to be washed and ironed out. The judgment that starts at the house of God is like a refining fire...so that the Church will make it through like pure gold. That means that these SEVEN ways that the Church has lost it's power need to be burned up like chaff in the fire and fall off. There is a lot of shaking taking place in these last days. As we near the second coming of Christ, persecution, trials and tribulation will test the Church, and only a remnant of His faithful will make it through.
.
Matthew 24:4-13, "Jesus answered: Don't let anyone fool you. Many will come and claim to be me. They will say that they are the Messiah, and they will fool many people. You will soon hear about wars and threats of wars, but don't be afraid. These things will have to happen first, but that isn't the end. Nations and kingdoms will go to war against each other. People will starve to death, and in some places there will be earthquakes. But this is just the beginning of troubles. You will be arrested, punished, and even killed. Because of me, you will be hated by people of all nations. Many will give up and will betray and hate each other. Many false prophets will come and fool a lot of people. Evil will spread and cause many people to stop loving others. But if you keep on being faithful right to the end, you will be saved." (CEV)
.
Samson's (THE CHURCH'S) strength IS returning. His hair is growing back. There IS a great outpouring of His Holy Spirit that is taking place worldwide. The religious spirit that has held the Church captive for centuries is being forced to leave with it's tail between it's legs, as Christ-followers come in the opposite spirit of these SEVEN ways that the Church has lost it's power. In these last days we will need to count on the authentic power of the Holy Spirit to carry us through the difficult days that are ahead of us as we near Christ's return. Yes, the enemy can manufacture false signs and wonders, but they are simply a counterfeit of the authentic. So many churches operate out of a place of fear, not wanting to be fooled be false prophets, false signs and false wonders so they reject anything that appears super-natural. How sad!
.
Moses (the AUTHENTIC) turned his staff into a snake. Pharoah's magicians (the COUNTERFEIT) also turned their staffs into snakes. The majority of the "Christian Church" is in fear of being deceived by the counterfiet and therefore rejects the fact that the authentic not only exists but came first. At some point during the plagues of Egypt, the magicians could no longer counterfeit the authentic power of God, and ultimately the children of Israel were led out of captivity. "Playing it safe" will only lead to a lack of freedom and outright bondage for a church that doesn't have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying in these last days. I for one choose freedom! In the Scriptures, Jesus only mentioned the church a handful of times, yet constantly spoke of the kingdom of God. Church buildings and boxes are similar in that they both have four walls...and both have been used to try and contain God and His kingdom. Jesus only went to church (the synagogue) one day a week. We know that "God does not dwell in temples made with hands." (Acts 17:24) The old wineskin of religion will never contain the new wine of the Holy Spirit. It is time to embrace our destiny as a church without walls. It is time for Samson (THE CHURCH) to regain his strength and power.

MICRONESIA 2012 - Teaching on Holy Spirit at Every Home for Christ

Two Facebook Posts
YESTERDAY: Starting tomorrow we will be traveling to the other side of the island twice a week to "teach" the Every Home for Christ mission school students a twelve week course on the Holy Spirit. Good thing He is a better teacher than we are. This is something that is "caught not taught." So I'll rephrase it. We are going to be dishing up the Holy Spirit to some hungry Jesus freaks!
.
TODAY: BAM! First day today teaching the seventeen Every Home for Christ mission school students on the Holy Spirit in Pohnlangas, Madolenihmw. They were all on the edge of their seats the whole time and couldn't get enough. We ended the day singing "Holy Spirit, come" together while laying hands on each of the students and workers. Wow! We were all just getting wrecked in the Holy Spirit's presence! 10-2-12 — in Pohnlangas

MICRONESIA 2012 - Getting Back to Hebrew Roots

Kolonia, Pohnpei

.
Getting Back to the Hebrew Roots
Every Monday evening we have been attending a class taught be a Messianic Jew who ended up here in Pohnpei. He and his wife have become dear friends of ours and I cruise around with this friend almost every day, asking YHWH where to go and who to minister on that given day. They ended up here on the island of Pohnpei because YHWH told them to sell everything back in the U.S., buy a boat and sail here from Seattle. As we see the plan of Elohim unfolding before our very eyes, we realize that our paths didn't cross accidentally. For there are no accidents in the Kingdom of God.
.
One morning I came out and saw that the tire on our car was flat. I called our friend Johnny, as I didn't have a spare yet, and asked if he could take me to the tire repair shop in town. So Johnny and I removed the tire, put it in his car, and then headed to town. When we got to the tire repair shop, up came a man with a white beard who could very well fit the role of a Hebrew Bible character of old. We began to talk and immediately hit it off. I asked him if I could meet him later that day and he agreed. Come to find out, the tire had no leak. Someone had let the air out. To this day, we think it may have been the Ruach Hakodesh, or Holy Spirit that let the air out of our tire, just so that I could cross paths with this awesome man of faith. Ever since that day, we hang out together all the time. He and his wife have blessed us tremendously!
.
On Monday nights we have been studying the Temple furniture and will start studying the Holy of Holies next week. A group of about twenty Yeshua-lovers that are hungry for more of Adonai gather together in a small house not far from our apartment. It is so important that we remember the Hebrew roots in Scripture and we must understand that the Bible was written from the Hebrew mindset as nearly every author was Jewish. The entire New Testament makes so much more sense in light of this. We are thoroughly enjoying these studies.
.
On another note, it is interesting that the only nation in the world that doesn't need a visa, but only a passport to stay in Israel is the Federated States of Micronesia. I believe that this is because of their unwavering support of Israel. It's not coincidental that we live in the only place in the world with this sort of allegience to Israel. There is a divine connection between Micronesia and Israel. We will continue to pursue what that divine connection means for us more as we continue our journey as missionaries here in Pohnpei and worldwide.
