Sunday School, Power Rangers and Jesus

Our "Tribal Gatherings" or home fellowships continue here in Pohnpei and we have now added a weekly Sunday School for the children to learn about Jesus. To illustrate the life of Jesus with children in a cross-cultural context, we sometimes have to use whatever is available to us. As of late we have been using Power Ranger action figures to do so, which brings quite a bit of comedy to our stories. Today we told the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand as well as when Jesus gave His authority to the disciples to cast out evil spirits. The black Power Ranger works well for illustrating Satan and we are using the blue Power Ranger to represent Jesus. The kids love it and are never satisfied with us just telling one Bible story. If they had their way, we would be playing Power Rangers and telling them stories about Jesus around the clock. Fun stuff!

I am so grateful for the godly heritage that I have as my grandparents and great grandparents were missionaries and my parents are both pastors and teachers. I grew up in a loving Christian home in California where many of my friends were from the international community. I finally fully gave my life to Christ at age 19 after years of living like the prodigal son. After Yahweh wrapped His loving Father arms around me upon my return to Him, I immediately responded to His call upon my life as a missionary with a resounding, "Yes! Here I am, Lord! Send me!" For over twenty years now I have ministered both in the U.S. and overseas as a missionary. I am a licensed pastor and ordained missionary who has a huge heart for the nations, and especially for the unreached people groups. I have learned to speak five languages and continue to learn languages still. I also love to sit at the feet of Jesus, worship Him, and lead others in worship, as well as writing original praise and worship music. Operating from a place of complete surrender to the Holy Spirit's leading, pursuing intimacy with God and being filled with His presence and His love is of utmost importance to me. Loving God and loving others is my highest ambition. My journey has been filled with many victories, but has not come without it's share of trials and failures as well. I have three beautiful children. I am thrilled to be a part of His Kingdom and to see His government continue to increase worldwide. I hope you enjoy reading the stories, seeing the pictures, and watching the videos of how Jesus continues to turn the world upside down through His sons and daughters in these last days.
