Nahlap: Island Paradise
This last
weekend we along with the Gellatlys, Nedlics and some others
went to the small outer island of Nahlap. For me it was my second time
being there but for the others it was their
first time being on this little piece of paradise.
.
When we first
got there we unpacked our stuff, then Jesse, Tanya, Zoe and I walked to
the opposite end of the island. Across from that end of the island
there's an old, rusted ship and Jesse and I (Tanya and Zoe stayed on the
beach) trekked across mossy rocks and waded through the ocean about
half way to the ship and took some pictures. We all walked back to where
we were staying just before dusk and ate dinner. After the sun went
down, my dad, Jesse and some others went spear fishing and brought back
tons of fish for a future meal.
.
The next
morning we all woke up, ate some breakfast, then we went back to the other (less inhabited) side of the island
again. Afterwards we came back and I took a short nap. Then Jesse and I
did some snorkeling before we left to go back to Pohnpei. There were so
many fish of various types; it was almost surreal. It was hands down the
most fish I've ever seen while snorkeling. My second trip to this
island was wonderful, just like my first. Being there is like setting
foot on a little piece of paradise.
