Guys Night Out in Maringanha
One of our Iris Harvest School staff and I were talking a couple of weeks ago about the importance for us to take the male students from Harvest School to the beach at Maringanha for an overnight trip. Every week God has been giving me visions for the Harvest School. This week God showed me a picture of His hand uprooting a plant that had many weeds intertwined within it's roots. I saw Him shaking the plant with hardened soil and dirt clods falling off. I also saw Him remove the weeds from the plant. He then replanted the plant by a river where he had prepared the soil. The plant grew into an enormous Bayobab tree whose leaves never withered and that gave fruit in it's season. (Psalm 1) I saw children climbing in this tree, and eating it's candy-like fruit as well as others sitting under it's shade. This is a picture of what God did with the men in Maringanha as Henk, David Wagner and I shared from our hearts. Soul-ties were broken. Men broke into groups and were vulnerable before one another, confessing their sins and struggles openly. Wounds were healed. Identity was restored. Guilt and shame were broken off. Men were validated. Character was esteemed as higher than anointing. Thank you Jesus for more amazing breakthrough!
